WEBSITE / KINETIVY DEMONSTRATION

A small-business site
with content you can edit.

A small business needs a website with a face of its own, words its owner can change, and an enquiry form that never loses a message. Most get a template and a promise.

A complete small-business website with its own identity, an editable content model, durable enquiries and budgets asserted by tests.

THE CONTEXT

A specific job.
A deliberate shape.

Form & Field is a fictional studio that makes vessels, textiles and timber pieces to order. Its website has a home page, a collection of eight objects with a page each, a studio page, a journal and a contact page, drawn with ten original illustrations instead of stock photographs. Behind it sits a content model the owner edits through a small admin: the hero and its palette, the objects, the passages and the posts. Each visitor works in a sandbox of their own, so the editing is real while every other visitor still sees the original. An enquiry is committed before it is confirmed with a reference, and the page says plainly that no email was sent, because none is.

What this means for youWhat Kinetivy would bring to a project like yours: a website with its own identity, content you can change yourself, and an enquiry path that holds every message.

DESIGN NOTES / FOR YOUR PROJECT

Three choices
you could reuse.

  1. 01

Give the content a model with defaults and overrides.

The site’s words, objects and posts live in one typed default document; edits are stored as whole sections and merged on every read, with one validation module shared by the server, the client and the tests. For your site, editing that is safe because its limits are the limits that are tested.

For youA website that looks like your business, not like a template, and stays within a performance budget.

  2. 02

Accept an enquiry durably, with a reference and no claim of email.

The server commits the enquiry before it answers with a reference, a repeated submission returns the same reference instead of a second row, and the confirmation says what did and did not happen. For your business, a message that is never lost and never over-promised.

For youContent you can edit yourself, within limits that keep the pages correct.

  3. 03

    Draw it, and budget it.

Original SVG illustration gives the studio an identity no photo library could and ships as code with explicit sizes, and a test gzips the build and fails if the client passes 120 kB of JavaScript or 30 kB of CSS. For your website, a look of its own that stays fast.

For youAn enquiry form that saves every message and says exactly what happened to it.
